Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide
The upgrading of your item is an essential factor in maximizing the potential of your gear. It allows you to add extra bonus stats over your base level item's value.

Upgrade components
The system for upgrading armor, weapons and other gear in Cyberpunk 2077 has been reworked as part of the 2.0 update. Upgrade components are scattered throughout Night City. The item you wish to upgrade must also have an upgrade slot. When you select an item to upgrade it will show an image of what the expected stats will be after upgrading, along with the required component or material needed. If you do not have the required level of material or component needed to upgrade an item the button will show "Blocked."

There are two kinds of upgrades: universal upgrades and gemstones.
