World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the item to which it is used (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.
In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is best to place Glyphs in the most important spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for example, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to improve the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could make the item more expensive if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrade s. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have an initial level and a totally different set of bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up many resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by 10 points. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
The item upgrader lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, armor trinkets, and armor) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded up to eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or speed of reload). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For example, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to carry every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
